A lot of cycling events offer cash prizes to the winners. Often times, some professional cyclists choose races that offer bigger prizes where usually the competition is tougher. The photo above is from a criterium race. While events offering cash prizes are more common in the road cycling sport, that isn’t to say track cycling events don’t offer cash prizes. Whether the athletes are attracted to the race or the prize that is not for us to judge. Either way, a cycling race is a showcase of sportsmanship, athleticism, and camaraderie. (And do take note, cycling events offer quite… low cash prizes as compared to other sports)
